Um, anyone know a good local place for a haircut and/or facial? Preferably somewhere I can get an appointment this week for my pre-vacation/birthday/wedding haircut and that accepts $250 in gift certificates to a place that closed down and slipped away under the cover of night...?
Great, thanks.

This is a tragedy. I was there once, and this woman put me into such a state that I wobbled out of the facial room completely disorganized. Seriousy, it was like the best sex my face has ever had, if like, a facial was anything like sex.
it's so past my bedtime.
I loved my massage. Someone I care about very much took me there once for my birthday, only to have it torn from my grasp within a few weeks.
Meanwhile, they musta run away in the dead of night. Look at that dust-town. Jeezzz
$250?!!
More evidence that gift certificates are wrong wrong wrong.
please tell me this place is at least a chain so at some point you can use those gift certs.... $250... that's a crap ton of money.. of course probably only good for one day of pampering (if that) but still!!
I don't know of such places.. as I've told you before, I seriously lack the girlie gene. :)
Their website has a 'locations' place where they show their single address (I'm guessing it's the closed place) There's a phone number and email address though. You should call and leave nasty messages.
Better business bureau. Try to get some cash back for that gift certificate. This reeks of mob activity to me.
you know, I went to...middle school, I think, with one of the Suissas. I was shocked that their family had this medispa. My shock was well founded!
Better business bureau definitely. Call Channel 4 or something - I saw a report on Ludvi Gems and Goldsmith when they suddenly closed shop and still had this woman's earrings. You need to get your $250 back, b/c that ain't cool.
Facials - go to Cultura in Bethesda. Best in town, so I'm told. Don't go to Magnolia or whatever it is in Travilah crossing, I wasn't impressed by either their massages or facials.
I totally saw that gem thing on channel 4, carrie.
good idea!!!
The placed sucked anyways unless you wanted purple hair and some overpriced gel...
Wow. I've always wanted overpriced, spiked-up, purple hair. Too bad this place closed down.
Seriously, though, contact your Attorney General and see if you have any recourse. That's ridiculous.
I like how in the third picture, there's a picture of a boob in the middle of the floor.
You need to 'get your money man'
YES!!! I love youtubes that start with:

Does anyone know where Yulia or Melanie ended up??? They were so awesome!
No but I wish I did! If anyone can help me find NANCY I'd be forever grateful!!
All of you people claiming that this company took your money and ran are total assholes. The owner of Suissa Medispa died suddenly of a heart attack and the family had no choice but to close the salon. The Suissa's are an amazing family and you all should be ashamed of yourselves for saying such terrible things without having the facts. Why don't you take your $250 gift certificate and stick it where the sun don't shine. Patrick Suissa, may you rest in peace.
Looks like Patrick Suissa did pass away in January. Seems a shame, he looked like a young man. Not sure what's in your craw, Anon, but I don't think anyone here had anything but the utmost respect for the work the Suissa's did. You might want to re-read after you've had your coffee.

sarchasm: the gulf between the author of sarcastic wit and the recipient who doesn't get it
they could have left some info on the door for their customers regarding the spa closing, or for those with appointments a phone call would have been good customer service. seems my time wasn't valuable to them, just my money
I found your post because I'm in the same situation. My husband bought me a giftcard and I cannot use. Anyway, I contacted the spa via the email address on the website (the phone has been disconnected). I was told if a CC was used to purchase the giftcard, you can ask for your money back through the credit card company. It's worth a shot!
Hope it helps
Sorry to hear of Patrick's demise, may he rest in peace. As for the Suissa family, having worked with he brother and sister, they are nothing but first-rate folks who genuinely take pride in their craft and their customers. Perhaps a greedy accountant, wife, child or beneficiary are to blame. Peace.
The owner passed away january 18, 2007.
No greedy accountant, wife or beneficiary. He was the MedSpa- It was his pride and joy. I never had anything but a positive experience there. He was a dying breed of doting hairdressers and he took so much pride in this work.
The comments above are just simply not true.
