Sexply

After the rain washed away the parquet (and the tears), and after tens of hours of back-bending splinter-hauling labor, we were left with sticky black flooring that was not only the dirtiest substance the world has ever seen but was also fortified with asbestos! Hooray, delicious asbestos for everyone!

"Guillermo, Schuillermo, I can do this myself!"

Touche, parquet

"Does this wall make my ass look big?"

Jake was none too pleased.

"I am none too pleased".

Weeks of dirty feet, paws, and splintered lungs later, the new wood arrived. Yes! Four layers of engineered amber hardwood and lacquer that had to "breathe" and "acclimate" for a few days (oh as if your wood doesn't breathe?) before the installers arrived. It waited patiently in a pile in the corner for further instruction.

The installer's butt-crack arrived promptly at 8am and the installer arrived at 8:12.

They got right to down to business and before you knew it...

There was cork!

Two layers of 1/4 inch cork underlay down...

Then plies (plys?) 4-6 were applied...

...glue fumes everywhere...

...and heavy machinery...

It was then that the mess started getting to us. We eventually recognized that we were arguing about the tinyest of tiny things and that our arguments had deteriorated to a point where "I don't have English" was a valid retort. So, we ran away for an overnight slash Mom's Bday trip to Atlantic City. Always good to take in a long road trip when communication is failing. Anyway, somehow a great time was had by all, even though I cooled every table I came near like a the Queen bee of endotherms.

Single women, please leave comment if you like what you see!
Isreali's (and Scott) need not apply.

And before you knew it, it was back to the flooring mess...

So close... so close..! Starting to wonder if it will ever end...
And then...

Ahhhh!!

So, that's what I've been up to, in a (non alergen) nutshell.

Now on to the plumbing and repairing the holes in the ceiling. D'oh!
