8/8/7

Happy August 8th everybody! As you longtime readers may recall, something remarkable tends to happen on this day. I can't wait to see what the next 24 hours hold.

So, how are you enjoying your morning drenching? Muhahahhaa, I now leave a series of floods in my wake!

Oh, and not only have I been tagged... but it's likely that you have been as well. You lucky dogs.

1. We have to post these rules before we give you the facts.
2. Players start with eight random facts/habits about themselves.
3. People who are tagged write their own blog post about their eight things and include these rules.
4. At the end of your blog, you need to choose eight people to get tagged and list their names. Don’t forget to leave them a comment telling them they’re tagged and that they should read your blog.

My eight:

8. Though I've sang the lyrics loud and proud for decades, I didn't know what a "steel horse" was until last week.

7. My grandma Frieda taught me to swim much in the same manner that Lucy taught Chuck to kick a football; she'd insist "get in the pool! I won't drop you!". And I'd always eventually listen, and she'd always immediately drop me.

6. The tires on my car can not be rotated. They are all different sizes. When the dealership calls and says it's time for my tires to be rotated I am reminded that they, like most people, know nothing and could give a shit.

5. Though outwardly remarkably ungirly, I have an unexplainable affinity towards polka-dots. And pink.

4. The holes in my ears were pierced at Kings Plaza mall, against my parents wishes, on 8/8/1992. Immediately thereafter, an additional 2 months were added to my lifelong grounding. To this day, if I take my earrings out the holes will close up in under 48 hours. On some level I suspect that my mother has somehow arranged for this to be so.

3. I've been contacting OPM and the FBI to look into becoming a background auditor. I think it might be fascinating work. Like mystery shopping people instead of establishments. Hm. I wonder if background investigators get free steak dinners?

2. Every time the plane takes off I'm sure that this is the flight that will culminate in my personal doom. As the plane is tilted and rising above the clouds I'm thinking about each person in my life and how my death will effect them.
This makes me really fun to travel with.

1. Oftentimes, people are surprised to find out that there are four additional letters to what they've come to know as my name.

I hereby pass the goodness on to the following flood of bloggers (presented in alphabetical order with the hopes of avoiding any --further-- confusion) and anyone else who would like to tag themselves in the spirit of 8.8:

A. Blogger

Anthology

Chief

Guts

Have Ya Seen Lucky?

Mmmm... Pie

Ms. Smash

Needtsza Break

Total Waste

Nice job there honeyk. I actually did background check work for a month or two last year. It wasn't for the FBI, but it was pretty cool examining people's info and occasionally calling them out on bullshit.

Man, this would have been a fantastic way to get me to write a blog post again. But no. For shame. For shame.

Sounds like an awesome job. Prolly not a bad way to make a living, not to mention be in the middle of everybody's shit and use the non-science. ;)
