Friday Contest

I got paid yesterday so I was being all responsible and shit and went online this morning to pay my credit card bill. I've always been pretty good about the credit card thing, actually I'm pretty anal about paying all my bills right away, often early, because credit is a big chunk of what is going to make this house (aka goal in life) thing possible. Yes, yes, that and I'm just one very bored and trite person.

After I paid my bill, I noticed a small matter of nearly $2800 in "pending" charges on my card, so I called the number on the back of the card to find out what that was about. Never done that before, but $2800 sure seemed like an awful lot of peerflix transactions to me. Turns out, it was some leftover bs from the 30,000 mile check up the Infiniti had last month; the dealership ran the $500 charge at least 6 times and their fuck up was still dangling on my account like a Frederick participle. Chick on the phone told me not to sweat it. Word.

Point being, I go online to pay my credit card bill. A click click here and a click click there and money is transferred from bank to card without ever seeing the light of day. Certainly not unusual. I barely even remember what cash looks like these days and I certainly couldn't pick a nickel out of a lineup of American coins anymore. The hell is going on with the nickel? Have you seen that thing lately? It's like a bizarro nickel that chose the blue pill or something.

Anyhow, an hour or three later, I go out to lunch, enjoy some lovely chicken shumai and shrimp fun rolls with a couple of dapper fellows, and proceed to pay for lunch with my credit card. You know, the card that I just paid off. Except the card is rejected. Three times. I escorted the cashier to the register and made the lady try one more time, to no end other than pissing her off but good. I'm swearing up and down that I know the card is good, I mean the card is always good, but today it's extra good because I like just gave them a ton of money! She responded by saying something in Chinese that I'm pretty sure was not "pork bun".

Turns out, "my" Visa Fraud Detection Division, decided that it was in my best interest to "temporarily freeze" my Visa card. A snooty and probably poorly dressed Account Representative, who was not with me in under 60 seconds as promised, told me that my inquiry this morning raised some kind of flag that only a litany of absurd security questions (what county does my brother live in?! That's not even a grammatically correct stupid security question!) could alleviate. Supposedly, the card will work fine now. I guess we'll see soon enough.
Anyway, on to today's contest. I'll keep posting them as long as you keep playing them...

Yep! It's boggle again! Woo hoo! This week the winner will have listed:
the most words that begin and end with the same letter.

And by "words" I mean English words, comprised of a minimum of three letters.

Winners, as you may know, will be awarded with some kind of fun, useless, and/or tasty treat.

Have a great weekend! Three days, no? Hip, hip, hooray! Hip, hip, hooray! Hip, hip... oh, forget it. If I'm going to stand here cheering by myself just forget it.

Thanks for playing, y'all!! Excellent wording, my dears. Truly excellent.

(though, some of you may want to consider reading the contest instructions --or consulting your magic cards-- before entering future contests. You know, whichever works).

I've had similar issues with my money that involved my stupid credit card, my stupid bank, my stupid stupid college bursar and a dozen customer service reps who were not serving me. They'll fix it eventually and if they don't, give 'em hell.
