Life in the Slow Lane --NOW WITH COMMENTS!

Haven't been able to get online from home for the last 2 nights because, well, let's face it, my cable provider and I have completely different concepts on what is and what is not "Comcastic". Because of this I didn't get to tell you about how I added swimming to my workout repertoire yesterday. B's been at it for a few months now and he's looking surprisingly lumpy in all the right places so I figured might as--

Ok, I must interrupt at this point to say that if I never see this GE commercial where the bearded, hard-hatted pear-shaped men sing "Take My Breath Away" ever again it will be too soon.

Anyway, where was I?

Right. So. I went swimming. Not only was it nowhere near as horrible as I anticipated, all in all I actually had a good time (even though I was asked by some begoggled stranger to please absent myself from the "medium pace" lane). Did about ten laps (backstroke, freestyle, the side stroke thing where you"pick cherries", it all came back to me!) before my stupid foot started yapping. Pissed because I wasn't at all expecting to hear from said appendage while participating in this particular activity. In the end I got a darn good workout and 300 yards in before hitting the hot tub. Every hair on my head was bleached to a bright orange by the chlorine but I haven't been hungry since so it was totally worth it! I'm going to go for 500 yards on Friday.

Oh and it turns out the internets weren't down afterall. My modem was off. Thankfully, I overcame that bout with stupidity in time to catch this.

I'll have you know, I have never seen that commercial. Now that I have, it is bookmarked, and I will use it whenever necessary. beware fair bee, beware.

So were you going too fast or too slow for the medium pace lane?

The clip won't play on this computer, but I'm assuming it's that one where GE tries to show that they make trains. Of all the ways to introduce a product...
