*Disclaimer: By no means should I be any one's go-to source for remodeling ideas.
That said, one smart thing we did during the bathroom remodel was to have these badboys installed:
The tub was shellacked in some kind of teal-to-white sealant, ripped down the old (teal and brown) tiled walls, took out the old bowl, the old vanity, the old lights and mirrors and replaced them all. Everything was painted, polished, and then we added new spigots and some electricity (don't even get me started on thta one). I'm loving the new vanity and the mere concept of a medicine cabinet, something I was forced to live without the last 5 years. Moreover, I can't tell you how pleased I am with those silly little shelves. So much so that they nearly offset my searing hatred for the low-flow shower head. I look at this photo and I hear angels singing (drowned out by my cubemate coughing, but still). So, my advice to you, homeowner about to begin the maniacal journey of remodeling; corner tile shower shelves? A for sure must have. Low-flow shower heads? Not so much.
Oh, and if you're planning on getting a new bowl, best to measure the height of the one you currently have (or another one that you like) since hardware stores don't let you sit on theirs. Don't just have to trust me on that one, try it out for yourself and report back.
